The material and the spiritual

During the summer of 2008 I have been working on a series of paintings that focus on the interplay between the spiritual world and the physical world. As far back as recorded time western culture has used the rectangle to symbolize the material wold. I am using the symbol of the material world to enclose and enhance the idea of the spirt. The photo below is of some of my work in my studio.
Incidently, it is very difficult to capture the colors and dynamics of these painting as their appearance changes as the viewer moves. All materials are archival and all paints lightfast.
